Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing CLM Styling to sell your pre-loved items. Our goal is to provide a professional, trusted, and efficient way to sell your clothing and accessories. By leaving your items with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Selling Process

  • Items are displayed for 6 weeks at our boutique:
    CLM Styling, 17 Cricklade Street, Cirencester
    Seasonal items may stay longer at our discretion.
  • CLM Styling reserves the right to determine the final selling price of all items.
  • For designer items, we will work with you to agree on a fair price before sale.
  • Unsold items approaching the end of the 6-week period may be reduced at our discretion to encourage sale.
  • Any item sold through our online shop, eBay, or other selling platforms will be honoured and prioritised over in-store sales of the same item.

Consultations & Fees

  • Bookings for clothing consultations must be made via our website (or exceptionally by phone/in person).
  • Upon receipt of your items, there is a £10 non-refundable consultation fee, payable at the time of booking.
  • A detailed Client List will be created showing your items, prices, and your commission share.

Bring-It-In Service (Standard Consignment)

For clients who prefer to bring items directly into our Cirencester boutique. This option offers the highest return value.

Commission Rates:

  • Up to £200: 40% Client / 60% CLM Styling
  • £201–£750: 50% Client / 50% CLM Styling
  • £751–£1,200: 55% Client / 45% CLM Styling
  • £1,201–£2,000: 60% Client / 40% CLM Styling
  • £2,001–£3,000: 65% Client / 35% CLM Styling
  • £3,001+: 70% Client / 30% CLM Styling

Please note: payment processing fees (currently 1.7%) are shared equally between CLM Styling and the client, with the client’s 50% share deducted from their pay-out. Collection Service (Home Pick-Up)

For clients who use our home collection service, commission rates are adjusted to reflect the additional time and costs involved.

Commission Rates (Adjusted):

  • £751–£1,200: 50% Client / 50% CLM Styling
  • £1,201–£2,000: 55% Client / 45% CLM Styling
  • £2,001–£3,000: 60% Client / 40% CLM Styling
  • £3,001+: 65% Client / 35% CLM Styling

Payment processing fees are split 50/50, as above.

Designer Handbags

  • For handbags valued at £250+, we reserve the right to have the item authenticated by a trusted third-party service.
  • Authentication fees are charged to the client and start at £10 per item.
  • Fees vary by brand (e.g., Chanel approx. £20, Mulberry £10).

These charges are deducted from your final pay-out.

  • Payment Processing Fees
  • For high-value items, a payment processing fee (currently 1.7%) is charged by our payment provider.
    • This fee is split 50/50 between CLM Styling and the client, with the client’s share deducted from their final pay-out.
    • Example: on a £3,000 handbag, the total fee is £51 — £25.50 would be deducted from your pay-out, and CLM Styling covers the remainder

Payment & Collection of Unsold Items

  • At the end of the 6-week period, you will receive an automated email from our Circle Hand app with the exact expiry date of your consignment.
  • You will then be contacted to collect your unsold items.
  • Payment for sold items will be made once you collect any unsold items, via bank transfer through our secure system (we do not pay in cash).
  • You must collect your items within 7 days of being notified, unless you have made prior arrangements with us.
  • If you do not collect your items within this time and have not agreed for them to be donated to charity, a storage fee of £10 per week will be charged due to stockholding limitations.
  • Items not collected after 4 weeks (unless storage fees are paid) will be donated to charity.
  • Your account will then be settled and closed until you make another appointment.

Condition of Items

We will only accept items that are:

  • Clean, pressed, and in excellent condition
  • Recently laundered or dry-cleaned (within the last 2 weeks, with proof of ticket if dry-cleaned)
  • If, upon further inspection, we find items do not meet our quality standards, we reserve the right to return them to you and will notify you within 48 hours of receipt.

Risk & Insurance

  • Whilst your items are on our premises, they are insured against theft, fire, and other risks.
  • If the value of the item is below the excess of our insurance policy, we will reimburse you 50% of the item’s value.
  • Although we take reasonable care of all items, CLM Styling accepts no responsibility for loss or damage caused by events beyond our control (including shoplifting).

Client Rights & Obligations

  • You may withdraw your items at any time. If an item sells through CLM Styling after you have sold it privately, our agreed commission will still be due.
  • You guarantee that all designer items you provide are authentic. If an item is later proven to be counterfeit, you agree to repay the full amount received plus any associated losses.

General Terms

  • CLM Styling reserves the right to withdraw any item from display at any time.
  • These Terms & Conditions are considered accepted when you hand over items in person or send them to us.
  • By using our service, you agree that you understand and accept these conditions.
  • The Terms & Conditions, whether given by hand or received by email, it is understood that you accept and understand the conditions therein.
  • ONLINE SALES - If an item has sold through our online platform, we will honour this sale over and above an online sale of the same item.
  • We are vigilant in ensuring this does not happen, but in the event that it does, we apologise for the frustration this may cause the online shopper.
  • Your account will be settled and monies owed will be paid upon collection of your unsold items, once we have called you to ask to collect the unsold items from us, you have 7 days to collect other than agreed prior to collection. There after we will give them to charity.

Refund & Returns Policy

At CLM Styling, we do hope you love your Pre-Loved Purchase — but sometimes we can fall out of love. If for any reason you are not satisfied, you have 14 days from the date you receive your item to return it to us for a refund.

How to Return an Item:

  • Items must be returned in the same condition as received — unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags and the CLM Styling Refund Security Tag still attached.
  • Please email us at info@clmstyling.com with your order number to initiate your return.
  • Returns must be sent back to us within 14 days of receipt.

Postage Costs:

  • Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.
  • We recommend using a tracked service to ensure your item arrives safely, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.

Refunds:

  • Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund to your original payment method.
  • Please allow up to 7 working days for the refund to appear in your account.

Non-Returnable Items:

  • For hygiene reasons, certain items such as earrings, swimwear, and underwear cannot be returned unless faulty.
